A Person Who Has Made a Difference : King Se-jong

King Se-jong has made a great difference in Korea. He was the king of Cho-seon, which is ancient Korea. Before the 12th century, Korea had used Chinese alphabet because of they did not have their own one. King Se-jong had decided to make the letters. After that, he organized the research institution for making the alphabet. During the research, not only did he give support for them, he researched and studied with his scholars. After all, they had succeeded to make a new letters. The new alphabet was called "Han-geul". "Han-geul" has 14 consonants that is based the figure of human's vocal chords system, and it has 10 vowels. According to the study, Han-geul is the only alphabet that knows who made it. In addition, the King Se-jong paid attention to his vassals and the people. As the reason of that, Cho-seon had prosperous time during he ruled over the Cho-seon. He was a scholar and protector of the poor as well as the king. Nowadays, king Se-jong is the most respected person in Korea. In conclusion, he is a person who has made a big difference in Korean culture and Korean.
